Your Voice. Your Choice.

Our Story
Two friends. One mission. One platform built for fairness and transparency.
PeopleVote was created from a shared belief: voters deserve clear, unbiased access to information, and qualified candidates deserve a fair opportunity to be seen and heard.
The modern political landscape often favors visibility over substance. As a result, voters are left navigating noise, spin, and limited choices—while capable candidates struggle to reach the people they aim to serve. PeopleVote exists to change that dynamic by restoring clarity, access, and trust to the democratic process.
The concept for PeopleVote was first envisioned in 2007, shaped by ongoing conversations about how to level the playing field in politics. Over time, lived experience on both the campaign and community sides of civic engagement brought the need for this platform into sharper focus.
After more than a decade working as a media advisor on national, state, and local elections across Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, and South Carolina, co-founder Chris Mahan consistently observed the same challenge: strong, qualified candidates failed to break through—not because they lacked ideas or integrity, but because they lacked exposure.
Without equitable access to visibility, voters never received the full picture, limiting meaningful choice and engagement.
At the same time, Hakiim Herring was working at the grassroots level as a community impact leader, real estate professional, and civic advocate, with over 20 years of experience advancing access to opportunity. Through education, mentorship, and community-based leadership, Hakiim has focused on empowering individuals, strengthening neighborhoods, and helping people navigate systems that often feel inaccessible or overwhelming.
Where Chris saw the problem from the campaign and media side, Hakiim saw it from the community side: people wanted to engage, but lacked clear, trusted pathways to information and participation. The disconnect between decision-makers and the communities they serve was evident—and costly.
Together, Chris and Hakiim created PeopleVote to bridge that gap.
PeopleVote delivers verified information, authentic dialogue, and transparent candidate engagement—without spin or bias. It gives voters the tools to make informed decisions and gives candidates a credible, level platform to share their vision, values, and leadership directly with the people.
This is more than technology. It is a commitment to access, fairness, and informed participation.
